Chonky Yarn Headband and Fingerless Gloves Knitting Pattern


This headband and fingerless gloves set is a great stash buster and work up super quick for a cosy make you can knock out in an evening.

Chonky Yarn Headband and Fingerless Gloves Knitting Pattern

You will need

• Less than half a ball of Chonky snag yarn in your favourite colour – perfect for leftover yarn
• 12 mm circular needles on 40 cm cable
• Yarn needle

Abbreviations

CO – cast on
K – knit
P – purl
St(s) – stitch(es)
rep – repeat
rnd(s) – round(s)


Headband

CO 42 sts and join in the round – be careful not to twist
1x1 rib (k1, p1 to end) for 3 rnds.
Knit 4 rnds
1x1 rib for 3 more rnds.
Bind off with a stretchy, elastic cast off.

(Lazy elastic cast off: K2 but do not drop the loop off the left hand needle. Slip the 1st stitch over the 2nd and only then allow the finished loop to drop from the left hand needle to make an extra stretchy bind off.)

(Traditional elastic cast off: k2, k2tog through the back loops)

Fingerless gloves

CO 16 sts and do not join in the round. Pattern is worked flat and stitched together leaving a gap for the thumb.

1x1 rib (k1,p1 to end) for 6 rows
Row 7: Knit to end
Row 8: Purl to end

Rep rows 7 and 8 another 5 times (12 rows in total)
1x1 rib for 2 rows
Bind off with a stretchy, elastic cast off.
